One of the most common questions we get is: "How fast can you turn around a custom order?" The answer depends on complexity, but our print farm setup lets us move significantly faster than a single-printer operation. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at how we do it.
Step 1: You Submit Your Idea
Every custom order starts with a conversation. Tell us what you need — a part, an accessory, a prototype, or a product idea. We'll ask the right questions to understand your requirements: dimensions, material, quantity, and intended use.
Step 2: We Design or Review the File
If you have a CAD file ready, we review it for printability and make any necessary adjustments. If you don't have a file, we can design one based on your specifications. This is where most of the lead time lives — getting the design right before we print a single layer.
Step 3: We Run a Test Print
Before committing to a full run, we print a prototype for review. This catches any fit, finish, or dimensional issues before they become expensive problems.
Step 4: Production on the Farm
Once the design is approved, we queue the job across multiple printers simultaneously. A run that would take days on a single printer can be completed in hours on our farm. We monitor every machine throughout the run to ensure consistent quality.
Step 5: Quality Check & Ship
Every finished part goes through a quality inspection before it ships. We check dimensions, surface finish, and structural integrity. Only parts that meet our standards go in the box.
