Have an idea for a custom part or product but not sure how to get it made? 3D printing makes custom manufacturing more accessible than ever — but the process can feel intimidating if you've never done it before. Here's a simple guide to getting your idea turned into a real, physical product.
Step 1: Define What You Need
Start by clearly describing what you want. Think about:
- What does it do? What problem does it solve?
- What size does it need to be?
- What will it be made of? (Does it need to be heat resistant, flexible, food-safe?)
- How many do you need?
- What's your budget and timeline?
Step 2: Do You Have a File?
3D printers work from digital files (usually STL or STEP format). If you have a CAD file ready, great — send it over and we'll review it for printability. If you don't have a file, don't worry. We can design one based on your description, sketches, or reference photos.
Step 3: Get a Quote
Once we understand your project, we'll provide a quote based on material, print time, complexity, and quantity. Custom quotes are free and there's no obligation.
Step 4: Approve a Prototype
Before we run a full production batch, we'll print a prototype for your review. This is your chance to check fit, finish, and function before committing to the full order.
Step 5: Production & Delivery
Once you approve the prototype, we run the full order on our print farm and ship directly to you. Most orders ship within 3–7 business days depending on quantity and complexity.
